Why does Mandalorian and Grogu feel like the older kids have graduated?

I heard someone complain that this Star Wars movie didn’t have the excitement of the releases for the last twenty years. Is it because there isn’t a Skywalker or Jedi to be found?

Even though you (mainly) didn’t have Luke, Leia and Han in Episodes 1, 2 and 3 you did have a younger version of Obi Wan Kenobi plus Anakin Skywalker which everybody knows would turn into Darth Vader eventually.

There are some cool things in this movie. But I found it really hard to listen to a Hutt (Rotta) speak English instead of Huttese as in the past. The battle scene in the movie had some clever nods to the chessboard scene from Star Wars Episode 4.

For the initiated, you get one of the primary characters from Star Wars Rebels on the big screen. The TV shows are starting to feed into the movies more, something that didn’t exist when Star Wars Episodes 4, 5 and 6 first came out.

For those of you that were disappointed with Episodes 7, 8 and 9 here’s hoping we get content closer to what George Lucas would have created in the future. As opposed to the hit and miss (and start and stop) movies and TV shows of the last 20 years.
