External Wall Insulation Batts | Construct Ramsay Insulation
Insulation is a key component to creating an energy efficient home. It helps prevent the loss of heat in winter and keeps a home cool in summer.
It can also reduce condensation and dampness in walls and improve breathability, allowing moisture to evaporate. Simplee installs wall insulation batts that are optimised for thermal and acoustic performance.
Earthwool
Earthwool is a new generation of softer, safer and environmentally friendly glass wool insulation. Earthwool R 4.1 wall insulation is designed to help you keep your home at the ideal temperature all year round and reduce your energy costs.
The super-soft feel comes from the ECOSE Technology binder that uses rapidly renewable materials and has no added formaldehyde. This makes Earthwool insulation eco-friendly and safe to handle during installation.
Its odourless, non-hygroscopic and rot proof to ensure it is durable and long-lasting. The insulation is also backed by a standard 50 year performance guarantee to give you peace of mind that you are getting the highest quality product for your home.
Available in 4 batt thicknesses from 24kg — 26kg/m3 and 3 width options to suit most Australian homes. The range has a choice of 5 different R-Value options to give you the control over your acoustic and thermal requirements. It is also available in 2 varying Rw ratings for acoustic control.
High Density (HD)
Knauf Earthwool HD batt insulation provides thermal and acoustic performance for use in external walls. It prevents heat gain in summer and helps reduce energy loss in winter by countering convection, condensation and radiation.
The insulation is supplied in unfaced R-15 kraft faced fiberglass batts designed to fit standard two by four (2x4) wall framing cavities, or in R-19 kraft faced fiberglass batts for older homes with true 2x6 studs. It is compression packaged for ease of handling and a wide range of R-values, sizes and facings is available.
It is a new generation of softer, safer and more environmentally friendly Glasswool insulation. It is also available in a wide range of R-Values to suit any design, build or retrofit application. This specialist acoustic range is also ideal for internal walls, helping to control noise transmission from room to room. Its high acoustic performance can also help to increase the overall comfort of the home.
Super High Density (SHD)
With a solid 27kg per cubic metre rating, Earthwool Super High Density (SHD) insulation batts are the highest performance option for your walls. This acoustic and thermal insulation product is commonly used around TV rooms and home theatres, and fits tightly within standard 90mm wall studs.
Designed for the thermal and acoustic insulation of external walls, Knauf’s Soundbreak batts are made with up to 80% recycled glass and have ECOSE Technology which is an environmentally friendly binder that doesn’t contain any added formaldehyde. These soft and safe to handle acoustic batts are available in a range of R-Value options, with varying thicknesses and widths to suit different wall constructions.
A softer alternative to Glasswool, Polyester acoustic insulation is safe to touch and non-itchy. Available in a wide range of R-Values and varying thicknesses and widths to fit the majority of residential walls, this insulation is white and fluffy in appearance. This acoustic insulation is made to a higher density than standard thermal insulation, which helps to create a great barrier against acoustic transmission between rooms.
Acoustic
Noise control within homes is becoming increasingly important and is usually the primary reason people install sound insulation. Whether it’s outside traffic noise that can interfere with sleep, or music and TV noise escaping into other rooms of the house, these problems can be minimised by installing acoustic insulation.
These types of batts are denser than standard thermal insulation and therefore provide superior acoustic properties. They also have an R-Value rating which indicates the level of sound reduction. A higher R-Value means better acoustic performance.
These acoustic batts are made from Glasswool or Polyester and are generally considered safer to handle than other insulation products. They are available in a range of sizes, thicknesses and R-Value ratings. The most important factor to consider when choosing an acoustic batt is the density. The higher the density, the better the acoustic performance.
