There’s a piece of embroidery going around. Pink background. Cute microbes. Almost comforting. Dark humor, yes.

But also… biologically accurate. 🧬

And lately, reality keeps underlining that sentence for us.

In recent weeks there were some alarming news popping up:

• Hundreds of snow geese were found dead at a quarry in Pennsylvania, likely due to avian influenza. This is December 2025!

• Wild birds.
• Domestic poultry.
• Mammals.

The crossings are increasing. Health authorities repeat — correctly — that risk to the general public is low. That statement can be true and still incomplete…

🧠 Evolution Doesn’t Care About Reassurance

We love quoting Nietzsche:

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

Nature never signed that contract. In biology:

• Survival doesn’t mean wisdom.
• It doesn’t mean morality.
• It doesn’t mean restraint.

It means selection.

What survives:

• Mutates
• Adapts
• Explores new hosts
• Tries again and again…

Not out of malice but because that’s the only algorithm life knows. 🔁

🧬 Why H5N5 Matters (Even If You’re Not Panicking)

This isn’t about fear. It’s about signals.

• A new strain crossing into humans
• Large-scale die-offs in wild populations
• More frequent mammalian exposure
• Continued low-level circulation even after “peaks” pass

These are not headlines screaming apocalypse. They’re whispers of adaptation.

And evolution whispers before it shouts.

The real risk is combinatorial:

• Dense animal-human interfaces

• Slow detection

Most pandemics don’t begin with mass contagion. They begin with boring anomalies no one connects in time.

It has been ten years since Bill Gates warned the world about pandemics. It has been one global pandemic since then. Are we more prepared?
