What The Feds Leaving Minnesota Might Indicate?
After President Trump replaced his previous so-called commander of what was referred to as Operation Metro Surge, there was lots of speculation regarding his reasoning, and how the new individual, who has been very visible in other areas of the nation, Tom Homan, might proceed, etc. We were told the move was merely a modification of the strategy, and an attempt to tone-down the action. Homan, who has been quoted on other occasions and articulated a hard-line strategy, began using a calmer tone, claiming he didn’t want to see any further violence used against either federal law enforcement agents or citizens. How often have we seen what seems to be misdirection and deflection used as an effective weapon by the current President of the United States, regarding so many issues and events? So, what does Homan’s and the Administration’s recent message stating they would be terminating the Operation Metro Surge efforts, and relocating federal agents from a variety of agencies, including ICE, Border Patrol, DHS, etc., actually mean, if we consider the bigger-picture and potential ramifications?
I am fairly certain we will see this Administration couch-this as a successful effort, which they now have under-control, and therefore, no longer need a significant federal presence in Minnesota! However, since the purported reason used originally for this was blaming the Somalian population (a large presence in MN) regarding fraud in child care, etc., despite the fact, the investigation and prosecutions had commenced by the state several years before, and the accused, apparent-ringleader of the scheme was not Somalian, but rather an American born Caucasian woman, and Trump proclaimed, using hateful vitriol, blamed the immigrant crisis, and used apparent-racist, xenophobic language, in an apparent effort to unify his core supporters! So, why now?
The rest of the USA and the world have been watching, witnessing and often-times claiming their outrage at the actions of ICE, Border Patrol, and other DHS agents, and, especially when they observed a concerted effort to whitewash and deflect attention from the events witnessed widely by amny videos which largely-differed from Trump and his minions explanations and statements of the events. Nearly every public opinion poll and survey have indicated Trump’s favorability ratings have significantly fallen, and those who follow Donald Trump realize he pays a lot of attention to being popular! The images and videos of masked ICE agents using what appears to be excessive force and violence has created a large-scale effort to force greater accountability, demand more oversight, and to question this Administration’s overall immigration policies!
What finally created the so-called last straw, which led to this apparent federal decision? Was it the reaction to the killings of two US citizens, which all videos clearly indicate was neither called for nor needed? Was it the fact public sentiment and even, some in the House of Representatives and Senate, began questioning both the cost and methodology and lack of oversight, regarding ICE?
What impact has both DHS Secretary Noem’s and AG Bondi’s broadly-criticized, poorly received efforts in front of Congress, have? How far will the nation permit Trump to continue proceeding both, in concept and reality, without apparent respect or caring for the Rule of Law, the Constitution and its guarantees, and apparently, even in contempt of and violation of several judicial orders?
How much did the amazing, consistent, persistent, unrelenting resistance, and resolve of so many Minnesotans, seemingly intensifying over time? What effect did the clear message of unity, righteousness, fairness, legality, lawfulness, and Constitutional rights and Rule of Law, from the area’s principal public and elected officials, including Governor Pritzker, Minneapolis’ Mayor Frey (Mayor since 2018), and several police chiefs throughout the state, have on the decision?
Or, was it simply that Trump and his advisers felt there was no longer any benefit to them and their agenda to continue this much-heralded effort? Was it perhaps, they felt, not only was it not helping their cause any, but rather, it was harming his overall popularity, etc.? Was this brought on because so many issues, such as apparent lies and efforts regarding Trump’s tariffs, the true beneficiaries of the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill, and the constant disruptions and uneasiness about the overall state of our nation?
We aren’t sure, yet, that the troops will actually withdraw, and if they do, how many might remain, and in what capacity! After all, nearly every professional fact-checker states Donald Trump has consistently lied, distorted, made false claims, articulated disproven Conspiracy theories (when he seems to believe they are favorable, etc.)! Does anyone fully trust anything claimed by this Administration, except perhaps Trump’s loyalist core supporters?
We can’t be sure the actual motives and reasons for this decision, and its timing, but I am fairly certain, it was a polically-based one, predominantly. Wake up America, or soon, we will all wake up to a nation without the Rule of Law, nor our Constitutional protections! This appears not to be simply about public safety and having a more efficient and effective immigration system. The reality is, despite the Trump Administration’s violations of due process and Habeas Corpus, and the excessive force used by ICE and other DHS agencies, the pace of deportations in Trump’s first year were lower than his predecessors, including Biden, Obama and Clinton. The main difference was they seemed to prioritized deporting the most dangerous and violent criminals, and followed the law, and it seems this Administration doesn’t seem to be doing so!
