Introduction Ready to dive into the journey of joining Saint Gobain INDEC? Buckle up, because I’m about to walk you through the entire process, from the first round to your first day at the office. Let’s get you prepped and pumped for what’s ahead!

Ps: Saint Gobain does much more than just selling Glass and has been in the business for more than 400 years.

💡Rounds

1. Technical & Aptitude

First up, we’ve got the technical and aptitude round. Think of this as your entrance ticket to the game. It’s all about MCQ questions, but don’t let that fool you — these questions pack a punch. You’ll encounter pseudo codes, code snippets, and brain teasers designed to test your problem-solving skills and technical know-how.

Tips:

• Brush up on your basics in coding languages, especially Java & .net.
• Practice pseudo-code problems to get a feel for the format.
• Work on quick math and logical reasoning problems for the aptitude part.

Difficulty Level: Well you’ll figure it out. I have faith in you ✨

2. Group Discussion (GD)

Next, we have the Group Discussion round. Picture this: you’re in a room with a bunch of other tech enthusiasts, and you’re all discussing the importance of technology in business. It’s your chance to showcase not just your knowledge but also your communication skills and ability to work in a team.

My GD Topic — Impact of Generative AI such as chatgpt & other AI tools in today’s work environment/world. Is it progressive or not ?

Tips:

• Stay updated on current tech trends and their business applications.
• Practice speaking clearly and confidently.
• Respect others’ opinions and build on them constructively.
• Make sure you are well heard by everyone and make eye contact as much as possible.

Difficulty Level:

Trust me 50% students will get wiped out in this round no matter how technically strong they are. 💁‍♀️

3. Interview

Now, onto the big one — the interview round. This is where you’ll be put to the test on multiple fronts. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

OOP Concepts:

• Saint Gobain Indec mainly focuses on understanding the basics and advanced concepts of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Be ready to explain and write code demonstrating polymorphism.

Polymorphism:

• Know the difference between runtime and compile-time polymorphism.
• Example: Method Overloading (compile-time) vs. Method Overriding (runtime).

Miscellaneous Questions:

• Rapid-fire questions on Java/python/C++ might come your way. Be prepared to answer quickly and accurately.
• If you’re facing errors, how to solve them ( your approach / logic towards errors will be highly judged )

DevOps CI/CD:

• Understand the basics of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
• Know how these practices are implemented in real-world scenarios.

DSA:

• Linked lists are a hot topic. Be sure you can traverse, insert, and delete nodes.
• DSA is vast, it’s a plus point if you know DSA in java otherwise just be prepared for anything and everything.

Resume-Based Questions:

• Projects: Be ready to discuss your projects in detail.
• SQL Joins: Understand different types of joins and how to use them.
• Models: Be familiar with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Machine Learning: Know the stages, especially data cleaning.
• They’ll ask questions in details according to whatever you mention in your resume. “A to Z and more”

Java-Based Questions:

• Arrays & Strings: Basic operations and common problems.
• OOP: Revisit your OOP principles.
• Coding: Be prepared to write and explain Java code snippets or any of your preferred programming language.

Summary: Java , SQL and OOPs are mainly focused in interview round, dot.net is a bonus.

HR Questions:

• Your family background, residing at, interests ?
• HRs would actively note your confidence, willingness to work and try new technologies, your flexibility and other soft skills.

My Interview Round? Well I am a python & data centric person , so was my resume. The questions I got were entirely python based.

I was asked to explain the projects on my resume in D E T A I L.

I also discussed the projects that was not on my resume to make sure my interviewer gets broader perspective on my technical understanding.

SQL JOINS is a must !!! SQL itself is.

I was asked to write down a query as well as code in python to explain Data cleaning in one of my projects.

There were whats and whys on what this particular line of code means or how would I approach a particular issue.

Mostly , I encountered Data Science questions but it depends on your interviewer what sort of questions you will be facing. Trust me 90% of the placed student were asked JAVA so don’t underestimate it at all.

ps: My Interviewer was SENIOR MANAGER of DATA & ANALYTICS in SG. ( talk about fate , one wrong ans and you’re done✨)

Is it difficult to crack an interview ?

You’ll go through 6 Months Internship phase , Of course PAID !!

There will be reviews and continuous assessments but we’ll discuss it some other time.

Tips:
