I Used the New MacBook Air M4 for 30 Days — Here’s What Surprised Me

Now that I’ve used it for 30 straight days, here’s what really stood out — the good, the not-so-great, and whether I’d buy it again.

💡 Why I Bought the MacBook Air M4

I’m not a video editor or coder. I’m a creator. I write on Medium, design on Canva, edit short videos with InVideo and CapCut, and do light photo work.

The MacBook Air M4 seemed like the perfect tool for:

Even with multiple tabs, Canva, ChatGPT, and Spotify running, it didn’t break a sweat.

2. Battery Life = Ridiculous

I charged it on Monday. Used it casually for writing, browsing, and creating designs. Didn’t plug in again until Thursday night.

Apple claims 18 hours. I believe it.

3. Display Looks Incredible

It’s not XDR like the Pro, but this Liquid Retina is stunning. Bright, colorful, and no eye strain — even after long writing sessions.

🛑 What I Didn’t Love

1. Port Situation Still Sucks

Only two Thunderbolt ports? Come on, Apple. I need to plug in more than that. (You’ll probably need a dongle.)

2. Price Isn’t “Air” Anymore

Starting at $1,099 — it’s creeping closer to Pro territory. Still cheaper, but no longer the budget-friendly hero it once was.

3. Webcam Is Just… Okay

If you’re doing video calls often, it’s good but not great. My $80 Logitech webcam still beats it.

No, it’s not perfect.

But it does exactly what it promises — without the noise or fan whirring. And for someone like me, who writes, creates, and dreams from their laptop?
