i once dreamt of touching the sun, soaring so high.

i believed i could, the cheers and applause of my peers further fueling my desire.

the sound of the wind blowing softly in my ears, the feeling of my wings being lifted higher, the land beneath didn’t seem to matter.

‘til an unfamiliar environment came along — new school, new people, new system.

i never knew that this new start would be the sun to my waxed wings.
