Did You Know…Cow Burps Cause Global Warming?

Folks, we underestimated them.

Yes, you read that right.

Cows have more purpose in our lives than just to moo and poop everywhere. Their top 2026 victories is apparently making into the top three causes of global warming — simply by burping — (not farting, even though it makes for good dad jokes).

Cows are actually ruminants that can digest fiber and plant-based foods, therefore the gut microbes in their digestive system ferment the food and produce lots of methane gas.

This methane gas is 28 times more potent than carbon dioxide in trapping heat in the atmosphere.

So...Lets Just Eradicate Cows Out Of Proportion!

Nope, that will be absolutely pointless because cows, even though a significant contributor of greenhouse gas emissions — and other cattle account for approximately only 4% of US Greenhouse Gas Emissions, while on the other hand transportation systems including cars are responsible for more than 25.3 percent!

So...even if we did have ‘meatless Mondays’ as one could call it — it wouldn’t really make a difference! Also...what would come of our diet?

Without protein and vitamin D we’d all collapse as our bones would just surrender and our muscles would sign a formal resignation pact.

But the good thing is — -Methane only stays around for 12 years. Carbondioxide? Hundreds.

Without cattle, plant materials would end up in landfills, Dr Sara Place says. And food waste in landfills is one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Also, eradicating cattle completely(in the US) would only lower global warming by about 0.36 percent. Definitily not worth the huge risks — like meat industries being threatened because of severe prices!

From this, I definitely learned that cows have actually more to them than meets the eye.

So the next time you think you think about how dumb cows are — remember — they catastrophically control global hazards just by belching. Who knows what other powers they have hidden under their sleeve?(kidding)
