Jannik Sinner defeats Alexander Zverev to retain his Wimbledon trophy winning 6–7 (7–9) 7–6 (7–2) 6–3 6–4.

Pre-match narrative

Jannik Sinner is looking to win his 5th grand slam title and his second consecutive Wimbledon title. Jannik Sinner entered Wimbledon in the 3rd round and faced Jenson Brooksby who he defeated 6–4 6–3 6–4. From the round of 16 he continued to not drop a set through to the final defeating Shintaro Mochizuki, Jan-Lennard Struff and Novak Djokovic.

Alexander Zverev has never won Wimbledon so he will be looking to win his first ever in this match up of the 1st vs 2nd seeded players in the world.

The match up started off very even with no player able to break eachothers serve. The first set went all the way to the tie break with the score at 6–6. Both players continued to win their serves until Zverev was able to win the tie break 9–7

The second set continued the trend of not being able to break eachothers serve leading to the second consecutive tiebreaker that Jannik Sinner was able to win 7–2

Finally in the 3rd set Jannik Sinner was able to break down Alexander Zverev to win his first break point of the match up. He then went on to win his serve and the set 6–3

In the fourth round Jannik Sinner broke Zverev’s serve again and continued to be unbreakable with Alexander Zverev unable to break his serve leading to Sinner winning the set 6–4.
