To Lose Yourself in the Firmament
A shorter distance than one might have expected

Image of an Undetermined Patch of Stars as Seen From a Distance Generated by Gustave Deresse in NightCafe; unedited
I took a stroll among the stars— bopped head first into a dead end, found we’re in a box, definitely cardboard.
Heavy-duty cardboard, it’s a thing. You wouldn’t want to build with it, and I don’t want to make this a research paper outlining why, though I’ll mention it’s been attempted before, and it’s not great with fire, moisture, pointy objects, etc.
There are also other building materials we can use, and other ways to reduce wase on — some — cardboard boxes, so why limit ourselves as a head-on cardboard society in the first place?
Anyway, in case it just so happens you’re not sure which carboard box is perfect for your needs… there’s help for that—
I’m not sure how we got so off-track, everything happened so fast— but know I appreciate you. Please take care.
And/or go another round!!!
It's one of my 2021 poems.
Sincerely, G
