Celebrating Everything! Artist-Curated Limited Edition Print Now on Offer for Collectors.
“Déjeuner Français, 1993” is a celebration of the day I received my French citizenship (I’m also a proud-ish US citizen, too). It also celebrates shared meals and warm friendships in “la Belle Normandie”, my French home. Plus, I turn 81 on 7/7. I’m celebrating everything at once!

“Déjeuner Français, 1993”
The Artist’s Statement:
- Through lighting, composition, and careful observation, I strive to bring life and emotion to overlooked beings and objects.
- My fine art photography moves between fieldwork — waiting for a decisive moment — and the studio, where the images are refined.
- In my work, I strive to illuminate the beauty in the things that most people overlook.
- In your space, this image becomes a living “piquenique” — something you don’t just look at but return to. That’s the great thing about collecting work that really speaks to you. It’s an intimate reminder that beauty is often the brightest thing in the room.
COMING JULY 4TH:
- I am featuring an Artist-Curated Limited Edition of only TEN 20x26” prints of “Déjeuner Français, 1993” for $997 per print.
- After these prints are sold, they will never be available again in large sizes.
- Each high-quality art print is signed, dated, numbered, and shipped to you from my NYC studio.
- The print will have a 1” border and be accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
- This offer is for a short time only, starting JULY 4.
- Please contact me for more details. Let’s start the dialogue!
- (I’m really going nuts with the bullets, right?)
The Fun Bit:
Of course, on the 14th, I have another national holiday (Americans call it “Bastille Day”). In NYC, restaurants may compete against each other in games of pétanque in the middle of the street. Wine will be poured. French music and dancing will happen in 60th St. (also closed) by the Alliance Française.
And my birthday? If you like sevens, I’ve got them! My “golden birthday” was 7/7/77, but that won’t happen again while I’m around.
Tuesday, a group of women in my building I’ve known for decades will come for wine/coffee and cake or cheese. One is laid up in her second home in the Catskills: she will be there on Zoom.
Then my best friends will come here on Saturday (7/11) for food and booze.
And, if I really want to go crazy, Belgium Day is the 21st.
I may sleep till August after all this is over!
Hope you are having a good July so far (it’s only the 1st, I know!) And I also hope you don’t bake too much in this “El Niño” month, when we are supposed to hit record highs yet again. Stay cool!
Be cool!
Cheers!
