Loneliness is not about Being Alone

We are living in a loneliness epidemic.

Not because we are physically alone, usually. But because the people we are surrounded by might as well not even be there for all the things we cannot tell them.

Even speaking to someone else is just a temporary relief when the only comfortable topic is the weather.

We are terribly concerned with how we are percieved, and so choose to take the less risky option and opt for dissolution of our character over true authenticity.

I believe that is why we write. Because the eyes that read the sentences are not the same as the ones looking directly and judging me.

I can with complete honesty say I don’t think we have ever been to the moon, without having to defend or support my beliefs. I mean, I certainly could show the reciepts and research, but I was detained as a child for letting other people copy my homework, so… I wish you great joy in researching.

Perhaps we were not here to be understood by other people.

Maybe the whole reason for being is to understand our own being.

And the world and everyone in it are mirrors.

I don’t think anyone in the world has understood me.

I don’t think I have truly understood anyone in this world.

We meet in these bright moments of relation, and ask each other to dance. It isn’t necessary to know your life history to dance. It just asks your present self if they feel ready to try something new. By being brave enough to look silly, we find the connection.

It is the vulnerable people, the ones that know we don’t get out of this unhurt or alive, who help the other shielders understand.

I was born to smile, to dance, to sing, to experience.

Suffering is a part of the experience, just like joy.

Life is a buffet.

Even if you have to eat at the table alone.
