I didn’t ask for much

What was your dream?

As a child have you ever dream of having your bedroom decorated with your favourite colour, full of toys or dolls, with starry ceilings?

As a child, have you ever dreamed of going to an amusement park with your family as long as you wanted?

As a child what was your favourite meal? The thing that the grown ups always ask you ‘what is your favourite food?’ mine was Fried chicken and Pasta

As a child we all dream about things that make us happy, things that we love as a kid, and things that you could brag about in school so that your friends would be jealous of you.

As a teenager have you ever dream of getting into Top Universities and having fun as a college student just like what you saw on tv show?

As a teenager have you ever dream of having a sports car or glamorous expensive car like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, BMW, and all that stuff?

As a teenager have you ever dream of having a three story house with a pool at the backyard?

As a teenager what was your dream job? The things that the grown ups always ask you ‘what you wanna be when you grow up?’ mine was either Actor or Fashion Designer

As teenagers we all dream about things that we wanna own, things that we wanna experience, and things that we wanna achieve as soon as we grow up and have a lot of money.

We all had a dream, a childhood dream, a teenage dream, adult dream, or maybe just a dream. Yeah, Me too, I am one of those people. I used to grow up dreaming about a lot of things, so ambitious, so passionate, so sure, and so dedicated.

And then as I was growing up, reality decided to hit me. **Killing one by one **the dream I dreamt about, the future I want to be, the goals I want to achieve, and the expectation I expected to come.

No, it’s not like I’ve become a hopeless person, not like that. The dream are still there, not gone, but somehow I manage to gave them a little bit of twist;

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that I can sleep on a comfortable bed without being haunted by my job.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that I can just chill and enjoy my weekends without my coworkers calling me all the time.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that whatever the food is, as long as it makes me full, I’m not going to complain.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that maybe I still have a chance to do my Masters Degree in Top Universities with my own money.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that the government is kind enough to provide public transport that is accessible for my mobility.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that wherever it is I am finally coming to a place that I called home.

As an adult, I didn’t ask for much. I just hope that I can get a job that pays me well so I don’t have to work five jobs and still worry about my bills.

Even though at the end of the day, I still don’t know if this dream is going to happen or not. But I always had an option; option to keep dreaming about it and doing something with it, or maybe, option to give it a twist and still trying my best to keep it until it become reality or until the reality hit me(again).

There is also an option to just let it be a dream, a fun imagination that I live with it. Or maybe at the very least, there is a dream that I need to let go and wipe it away. And that’s okay, because after all I own my own dreams, and I am the one that has to decide whatever I want to do with it. And dreaming is free anyway. Right?
