Poem 12: “breathe peace”

Today’s poem is the twelfth and final in a series of publishing one poem a week from my chapbook, “GOD…HOPE.” The short collection (12 poems) situates my support for Palestine within my faith and especially within the Gospel of Christ Jesus. This is a variety of styles, including spoken word and haiku, and is filled with not just imagery from my Christian faith and life, but several cultures I’ve come into contact with over the years.

Poem 12: “breathe peace”

peace, be still

stand; just stop.

let not the world

come between you and your God

just. breathe….

breathe, and seek peace

in the gracious Presence

of your God.

not as the world gives

peace….

He. gives.

to us, more and evermore.

just. breathe….

go to that secret place

in the quiet, find

the Great.

the Great I AM

His Spirit, His Ruach

the very Breath of our God

Living Water, Living Soul

just breathe.

breathe peace….

the peace, and mercy,

of our God.
