Projekt Ilaiyaraaja Season III — 243/365 — Aayirathil Nee Oruthan

I think I am on a S Janaki solo rampage :) This is another song that went unnoticed and in fact the movie is not much talked about although it had the Sridhar- Ilaiyaraaja — Kamal combination. But the movie has a long history of making (refer wikipedia).

The song might remind you of Aasaiya Kaathula Thoodhu because of the beats but they are differnt if you listen to the carefully. The initial humming of Janaki with the percussion shows that it’s going to be a rhythm based song. With the beautiful rhythm pattern , it also has the amazing intersperstions from guitar, shehnai, flute and violins.The shehnai piece in the first interlude and the flute in second are notable. But the interesting bit for me is the tune of the charanam that doesn’t flow in a pattern. Check it out.
