7523QCA7523QCA: Week 12, Some Illustrations

This week I did some illustrations!

I used the Brettacorp Tree Nation website to find a list of trees I could draw. Originally, I was hoping to draw 12 trees or images of plants, but I realised that I don’t have the capacity to draw that much so I’ve cut it down to 8. Two of Brett’s choice plants, two medicinal plants, two fast-growing plants, and two magnificent.

I’ve started with Brett’s choice (fan palm and quandong) and the fast-growing plants (large fruited red mahogany and creek mat rush). I’ve decided to stick to the common names for the plants instead of the species names because they’re a lot easier to remember and will be easier for users to remember as well. My favourite one thus far has been the large fruited red mahogany. I love eucalyptus trees!

I started these illustrations by finding reference images and then importing them into Clip Studio Paint, which is my art program of choice. I then sketch the image in this program before transferring it to Illustrator to make it into a vector image. You can see these illustrations below.

I have two weeks to complete my Pecha Kucha presentation and my final report. I look forward to submitting these and wrapping up the semester.
