To think that Trump saved the Affordable Care Act AND Walz didn’t nail Vance the wall on this point surprised me. Big Gaff, Tim. Point of massive vulnerability that was missed. I was also unsurprised that Vance was so slick. Ask any Yale Law grad and they’ll tell you, this approach comes with the training embedded both in Yale’s JD degree. Also, he wasn’t wearing his eyeliner which made him look like a strange, pudgy version of Leonardo DiCaprio. This only “kinda’” surprised me. But I digress.

I was disappointed that Walz appeared to only find his footing when the subject turned to women’s health issues and, then, January 6th with the obvious threat to our democracy that Trumpism poses. I was disappointed that the collateral damage of “pet eating” in Springfield, OH, didn’t get more attention. Vance admitted to the culinary lie, but at what cost was distortion of truth felt by real people? Ohio citizens, the one’s Vance should be representing, are being terrorized by those who’ve been asked by Trump to “stand back and stand by”. For a presidential ticket to create an electoral center-of-gravity around white supremacy in any given community should be a disqualified.

To make comments that falsely implicate Haitians who immigrated to the US legally and are paying taxes should remind each of us who are armed with a vote that there is a moral component to this election that connects all of us on a psychological and spiritual level. Scapegoating is wrong. Accusing someone falsely is wrong. Ruining another’s life and justifying it as a convenience to an electoral victory for one’s self is wrong. Trump also lost the election. Vance’s inability to answer Walz’ well-placed question was an obvious dodge and, I believe, the stickiest quip of the entire night. Vance is a lap dog. Pure and simple; the kind of pooch who does whatever Capt. Bonespurs says. America can do better.

So do the right thing and examine your own impulses no matter who you’re voting for. In the meantime, consider the unnecessary pain felt by those impacted by those who would prey upon the intellectual laziness that we all can share. Then put the Cheeto and his bearded lieutenant out to a pasture where unperturbed grazing can happen for decades.
