Gold or Bitcoin: Can you believe it is even a question?

The answer should be gold, without question.

Maybe not, here's why.

Gold has been around since Earth's formation, from thousands of years to billions of years (depending on who you believe).

It is a precious metal because it is in limited supply. It is estimated that around 60 tons of unmined gold remain in the earth.

Earth basically has three usages:

Jewelry

Investment

electronics

But many things have been made of gold, or overlaid with gold, ranging from baby shoes to toilets.

Along came Bitcoin

A financial crisis in 2008 sparked an innovative idea in the cryptography world, and 16 years later, it is being compared to gold.

Why?

You can't wear it or make anything from it; you can only virtually own it.

So, what gives?

The Commodity Futures and Trade Commission (CFTC) defines Bitcoin as:

"Bitcoin is a convertible virtual currency. Virtual currency is a digital representation of value that functions as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, and/or a store of value."

Like Gold, Bitcoin has a limited supply. Of the 21 million Bitcoins created, roughly 1.5 million remain to be mined.

Like Gold, Bitcoin has value because more than 106 million people worldwide recognize its value.

Like Gold, Bitcoin can be used to buy and sell things or can be turned into cash.

But why is something intangible being compared to gold?

Acceptance

Trust

Value

"The decentralized asset was pitched as a digital gold, or as I have previously called it, ‘gold with wings." The idea has been that bitcoin boasts the same sound money principles as the precious metal, but bitcoin's unique properties (including the finite supply, the bitcoin halving feature, and the relatively young life since inception) should ensure bitcoin would continue outperforming gold."

Bitcoin is accepted as an alternative to government-backed currency because of years of abuse from corrupt government leaders.

Bitcoin began in the U.S. due to the American government's greedy political agenda and the 2008 collapse it caused, but this is far from the first crash, and America is only the latest country to fall prey to greedy political ambitions.

Globally, trust in government's credibility to do the right thing by its citizens is at or near an all-time low.

The 2008 financial crisis in America is proving to be the tipping point for the U.S. government.

The U.S. dollar's strength is increasingly challenged as its credit rating continues to decline. Although the current administration is attempting to make America Great again, on the global stage, it may prove to be too little, too late — only time will tell.

"Since 2008, the world has been sleepwalking through a silent depression, a slow-motion economic collapse papered over by the relentless hum of central bank printing presses. The dirty secret of the global economy is that real GDP growth hasn't outpaced monetary expansion in nearly two decades. Strip away the façade of inflated asset prices and debt-fueled consumption, and you're left with a stark reality: the global economy is a hollowed-out shell, propped up by trillions in freshly minted money. This isn't growth, it's a Ponzi scheme dressed up as prosperity, and the bill is coming due."

Investors trust Bitcoin because its decentralized nature has been proven time and again during its brief history.

It has done remarkably well for a product that has died over 400 times. This is because investors continue to trust its mission to provide peer-to-peer transactions without third-party involvement.

There are arguments surrounding this as Bitcoin marches into mainstream adoption, and time will prove which is correct.

Even while gold enjoys new all-time highs, Bitcoin has not been abandoned. It is doing what it has done since its inception. It is trading sideways (rangebound) between $107,000 and $111,000. At some point in the near future (I leave the when up to the experts), it will break out and enjoy a new all-time high.

Until that happens, you buy the dip and enjoy the ride.

This leads to the third reason something intangible can be compared to gold.

Value.

Investors see value in a digital asset that continues to hold its own amid such global uncertainty.

Bitcoin is not impervious to market news or global shakeups, but its resilience is undeniable, and investors (both individual and institutional) see that.

A growing number of analysts question how long America can keep the dollar propped up amid such debt, with no signs of a slowdown, much less a reduction.

The growing aggression of anti-freedom countries and entities continues to exercise their will around the globe. At the same time, global leaders remain divided over whether to agree with them or defy them.

Each of these factors affects the value of money, and even Bitcoin, but again, it holds its value well against them.

The Bottom line

You will not go wrong owning gold.

But you will be a wise investor if you own Bitcoin.

"The modern financial system runs on fiat currency — money backed by governments, not by scarcity or intrinsic value. For decades, we've accepted this system as usual: salaries paid in fiat, savings in fiat, investments denominated in fiat.

But as inflation erodes purchasing power and governments pile on debt, more people are asking: What comes after fiat?

For many, the answer is Bitcoin. Not a speculative trade, not a get-rich-quick scheme, but a shift toward sound money that is borderless, decentralized, and immune to arbitrary debasement.

Moving away from fiat and toward Bitcoin doesn't happen overnight. It's a process — one that requires education, intentionality, and practical steps.

My challenge to those who disagree is to back up your disagreement with facts. It should be an interesting conversation.

Where I stand

I believe in you because I am like you.

I'm not a financial advisor.

I'm not a crypto millionaire.

I'm just a student of the cryptoverse — and I'm committed to sharing what I learn so others don't have to navigate it alone.

This isn't hype.

It's careful research, honest education, and real opportunity.

If this guide gave you clarity, here's how to keep going:

✅ Ask me questions anytime — I welcome them

✅ Start small, stay curious, and be consistent

Because Bitcoin isn't just an investment.

It's a mirror — reflecting how power, finance, and freedom are being completely redefined right now.

If you're reading this, you're already ahead of most.

Keep learning.

You're not late.

You're right on time.
