What it’s really like “dating” in 2026….

How do you date? Why do we date? I think the better question is “Should we be dating?”. Now now now listen…I know that seems kind of crazy, but coming from a 20 year old girl….yeah thats definitely crazy. You’re probably thinking “well you’re only 20..you have your whole life ahead of you” and while that may be true, what if I just want love? Do people even still believe in true love anymore? Love at first sight? Dating just seems like a mating ritual and in most cases..it definitely is! Dating is no where near what it used to be, when guys used to see someone or meet someone and they were brave enough to walk up to them, compliment them and say, “ hey, can I get your number?” or “hey, would you like to go on a date with me?” It seems as though “date” is now some kind of forbidden word. What ever happened to people just dating, or saying they’re just dating? Now its just, “we’re hooking up”, “we’re in a situationship”, “we’re….?” Like hellooo?!?! We live in a world where people don’t even date or ask to date anymore, they just slide in your dms and ask to “hang out” but I think we all know what I mean by that. Dating has now turned into a lost art, and dont even get me started on dating apps….
