S1 Mark II Launch with Imaging Resource

At the recent S1 Mark II launch in Austin, Texas, I was impressed by the updated S1 body and the new 24–60 mm F2.8 zoom. A few key takeaways: Imaging Resource remains a respected authority in camera reviews — I am honored to be part of the revival — and the S1 Mark II delivers outstanding performance and an extensive, menu-driven feature set. I captured sharp stills, 70 FPS bursts, and smooth video at the event, then put the S1 Mark II to work back home in the Methow Valley, shooting wildflower meadows and alpine mountain vistas.

The newly developed 24.1MP full-frame, partially stacked CMOS image sensor contributed to the wide range and colors in bright, mid-day light.
