Moontime Diaries: Moving Beyond Codependency

Finding inner balance to create true, interconnected partnerships

Today is day one of my bleeding cycle — a time I call my Moontime. I notice that whenever I enter this phase, my energy shifts more from doing to receiving. My world slows down, and I tend to become a vessel for deeper reflections and insights. These diaries are a space to share what drops in during this quiet time.

Today’s inquiry comes from what I’m currently experiencing and exploring in my own relationship: Can we be stable and balanced on our own, and then come together as true friends?

In the past, women were invited to lean entirely into their feminine, and men fully into their masculine. This allowed each to be strong in their natural tendencies, which works great in theory — however, it can create a culture of codependency.

If one part breaks off, the rest falls apart, which doesn’t appear sustainable, or grounded.

These days, many of us are seeking to bridge the gap within ourselves, creating a balanced, inner ecosystem of both the masculine and feminine. From this place, when we enter partnerships, friendships, careers and co-living situations, it comes from a true alignment, freedom and a genuine desire to share space with one another — not from a place of codependency.

Nature shows us the beauty of being interconnected. The more we know ourselves, the more we can find our natural balance, and thus can co-exist in greater harmony.
