In a world where people come and go, I used to believe that nothing really lasts. I thought friendships were temporary, feelings were replaceable, and trust was something that always breaks in the end. But life showed me something different. There are some people—rare ones—whom we keep choosing, again and again, no matter what happens. Even after misunderstandings, distance, or silence, something about that bond refuses to disappear. You may not talk for months. There may be no calls, no messages, no updates. Yet when you meet again, it feels the same. Not forced. Not awkward. Just… natural. Like nothing ever changed. Yes, it takes a few moments to reconnect. A small hesitation. A short pause. But after that, the bond continues as if time never touched it. And that made me realize something: Not all relationships are meant to stay constant every day. Some are meant to stay constant in feeling, even if life creates distance. At the same time, I also learned a harder truth. This generation moves fast. People change quickly. Promises don’t always mean forever. And trust… trust is not easy anymore. After being hurt again and again, it becomes natural to build walls. To say, “I don’t need anyone.” To believe that it’s safer not to expect, not to depend, not to care. I’ve felt that too. There was a time when I completely lost hope in friendship. And even now, a part of me still questions it. Still doubts. Still protects itself. But here’s the truth I’m slowly understanding: Not everyone will stay. Not everyone will understand. And not every bond is real. But that doesn’t mean no bond is real. Some people may not be permanent in your life, but the way they made you feel—that connection, that comfort—that was real. And somewhere, there are still people who match your heart, your loyalty, your depth. Maybe they are rare. Maybe they take time. But they exist. So instead of closing your heart completely, maybe the answer is this: Don’t expect everyone to stay. Don’t trust too easily. But also… don’t stop believing completely. Because the bonds that are truly meant for you? They won’t need constant effort to survive. They will find their way back—again and again—no matter the silence in between.
