The Males Without a Cause (otherwise known as incels)

It is not a new phenomenon, only a new name for an old frustration. Incels are the digital mutation of the man without war, without faith, and without purpose. In the past, these figures found meaning through religion, hierarchy, or ritualized violence. Now, with no altar and no trench, only the screen remains as their place for redemption and echo.

What they call “hatred of women” is nothing but fear of female freedom. Their poison is not desire but symbolic impotence. They have discovered that women no longer revolve around their desire, and that revelation strips them of role, order, and identity. In the old system, the woman was the reward, the proof of their worth. Today, she is a subject who chooses. And for those who cannot understand freedom, choice always feels like an insult.

This new generation of resentful men speaks of sexuality as if it were an economic balance. They claim that women “enjoy themselves at twenty and suffer at forty,” but what truly burns them is not women’s pleasure — it is their own inability to feel it. They envy the free body because they only know the frustrated one. They do not hate women — they hate their autonomy. They do not hate love — they hate not being needed.

The so-called “epidemic of male loneliness” is the most visible symptom of all this. Many men were raised to believe their value came from being needed, not from being whole. When women no longer need them, the void consumes them. Without emotional language or support networks, they depend on a single figure — the partner — for affection, validation, and order. When that figure disappears, they collapse.

Women, on the other hand, have learned to weave plural, non-hierarchical networks. They know how to be alone without feeling empty. They do not confuse love with dependence, nor companionship with salvation. Their freedom is the cruellest mirror for those who never learned how to be free.

Incels are not monsters: they are relics of outdated masculinity. Men still searching for mothers instead of partners, who confuse care with submission and desire with power. Their tragedy is not unrequited love, but the symbolic emptiness of someone who cannot love without domination.

Their epidemic is not loneliness. It is the absence of purpose.

When the world no longer needs them, they invent an imaginary war to feel like heroes. But they fight alone, and their only enemy is the mirror.
