Spiritual Pioneer — Sydney Banks, realized the Three Universal Principles: Mind, Consciousness, and Thought, which are the formless elements that form all experience into reality.
Psychologists, educators, and life coaches who expound upon The 3 Principles can be found worldwide. It is evidence-based with a spiritual premise of the psyche.
While there are many avenues to learn about the 3 Principles, Mr. Banks offers a collection of unanimously recommended works for apprentice practitioners and practicing professionals alike. His literature and video presentations are considered the “go to the source” for learning and understandings.
Sydney Banks began his journey of unfolding the Universal Principles in the early seventies while living in British Columbia, Canada.
Syd shared his discovery with family friends, and eventually a group of psychologists and a prominent sociologist. This group has become known as the originals of the 3Ps community.
At conferences throughout the world, Mr. Banks would re-share his story of how he met a renowned psychologist at a relationship conference that he had attended with his wife.
Syd’s Story
Syd Banks recollected that he explained the problems that he had in marriage with the psychologist. As a result, the psychologist stated, “that’s not real — those are just your thoughts.”
That very evening, Syd had a profound awakening about the power of thought within the conscious mind.
“It’s not what you think — it’s that you think.” Sydney Banks
He shared how he was awake through the night at the conference hotel room, consciously thinking about the insight unfolding in his mind.
Syd realized that every experience matched the level of his thinking within his mind. A flash of memories from his entire life verified his notion. The impact upon his life was startling. It shifted his whole demeanor, noticeably by his family and friends.
Both family and friends frequently asked him what happened with concern. When he explained to a dear friend about the principles, the response was, “that can’t be so!” in a flustered tone. It was apparent Syd had a dramatic shift from within his core.
Syd would state, “it was very touch and go,” when relating his insight to his friend. Eventually, the meaning of his words broke through the mental fog of the ones he dearly loved.
“If these writings bring a second chance of life to just one human being, my work has not been in vain.” The Missing Link by Sydney Banks
Looking out the picture window from his home, Syd had another awakening, the teachings of the Three Principles, for the sake of healing the world.
Syd was visited by experts and spiritual leaders worldwide at his home in Salt Spring Island, where he openly shared his message.

In commemoration, a designated bench is at the park where Syd visited. Its location is at the center of Centennial Park, Salt Spring Island, in British Columbia.
Syd Banks had conveyed that the 3 Principles are a “no-nonsense” way of describing the essential ingredients that inspire all experiences. The principles universal to every being.
While Mr. Banks presented these principles to describe the human experience, their natural presence is the same for all living creatures.
The formless energy of the principles is spiritual. They are the unseen gifts that are within all of us. How we use them brings about their unique qualities.
Since the discovery by Mr. Banks, the 3 Principles found their way in many settings, including training, education, retreat groups, and individual counseling. The 3Ps are a basis for recovery, life coaching, and business consulting as well.
The 3 Principles Relevance is All-purpose
“When you understand the spiritual nature of Mind, you automatically understand Consciousness and Thought.” Sydney Banks
Anecdotally, many tools in the shed have an accompanying manual to describe their proper uses and functions. Similarly, the principles explain the operating parts of life experience from the inside-out.
The profound nature of these principles is that they are formless. The spirit of the conscious mind is untouchable, and its thinking is unseen. Once these elements reverberate throughout the body and its expressions, the spiritual energy has already reached material form.
3Ps are an understanding. They restore sensibility. Learning about the principles only involves open curiosity. Previous knowledge tends to get in the way.
Many evidence-based practices “co-mingle” interchangeably. The 3Ps are autonomous, offering a reference point to the essence of all experience rather than its manifestations. Similar to a compass, it points where the decider wants it to go. Without the compass, the reference of direction is nonexistent.
The principles are a window to the phenomenon of life. Syd stated that there is only one principle — Mind, Consciousness, and Thought are its essential parts.
No one other than Sydney Banks can claim to be an authority of the Three Principles.
Accordingly, Mr. Banks himself has stated, “Never be a follower.” It is up to each person to learn about the principles unencumbered in their unique way, at their own pace, towards unfolding their meaning and purpose.
Learning More About The 3 Principles
In addition to Sydney Banks’ learning resources, there are numerous materials and programs available. There are 3 Principle Practitioners worldwide. Many practitioners are in the directory at 3PGC — the 3 Principles Global Community, formed by many of Syd’s original community.
3Ps may or may not fit everyone’s style. In either case, many find it offers meaningful insights that lead to greater depth in understanding the power of thought.
By exploring the 3Ps, many experience awakenings in life. The deeper the conscious mind thinks, profound wisdom naturally expands into the experience.
The 3Ps community refers to profound understanding, as restoring life to an unbroken state.

The Universal Principles of Life
“Insight is a sight within. It is inside, in-sight.” Sydney Banks
Life is truly an adventure into the unknown. There can be many roadblocks, bumps, and potholes along the path. Even so, these factors are not the pathway. Life’s journey is much more than its temporary conditions. It is foremost a learning experience of life itself.
Beyond the human condition, with its contaminants, there is the guidance of innate intelligence. It forever leads to purer states of living. Once engaged through the depths of the mind, it reveals the essence of life, its inherent clarity. It enlightens sight profoundly.
