Drabble 302 | Insurance

Today’s challenge was to write a 100-word story, a drabble, that features the word insurance and starts with the sentence, They are smarter than we thought.

“They’re smarter than we thought.”

“Now you tell me! After I put sugar in their gas tank to stop them from picking up our girls for the homecoming dance.”

We were on the edge of the dance floor, the girl's arms twined around our necks… Bobby Vinton crooning Blue Velvet.

“Shit! Here they come, and they don’t look happy,” Mike whined.

Those bigass footballers charged into the gymnasium heading straight for us. As I stepped out of my girl’s embrace, Big Joe plowed into my gut.

Going down, leg bent at a funny angle... Snap!

Good thing Dad has insurance!
