Our thoughts have consequences too

A certain couple were having a nice time watching a Television program where a famous young lady was been interviewed. This young lady happens to be a very beautiful girl; she was taller than the regular factory size of most women, and she had a body shape that looked very fantabulous. To make matters interesting, she wore one of those kinds of dresses that did it’s best to cover as much as it could.

They made comments about the appearance of the young lady. The comments ranged from how beautiful her hair and skin was, to how she would have toned down her make-up for the beauty of her face to be appreciated. And as more analytical remarks kept coming in about the lady both as jokes and clear statements of facts, the husband suddenly said, ‘ hmm this lady’s shape is something else. I can imagine how sweet she will be in bed.’ The wife on hearing what her husband had just said, replied him and said, “Hmm. I know you are just joking, but hope you know that you have just committed adultery?”

The man had already positioned his mouth to argue, so as to clear his name from being accused wrongly because of a common joke, when he remembered what the scripture said in Mathew 5:27–28. And with that he was able to see how grievous his common joke could be, and how he was seriously out of line.

Then he thanked his wife for understanding that he was only joking, prayed right there for forgiveness, and immediately ended all the discussions about the TV program, and focused on something else.

As I pondered on this story, I wondered how something innocent-looking can have the severe consequences of guilt; I wondered how our intentions are often not enough to stop us from being lured away into error; then I wondered how our failure to recognize our moments of error, often leads us into more errors until we are completely led astray. So I came to some sort of conclusion, that

WRONG DOING OFTEN APPEARS RIGHT, UNTIL IT IS FOLLOWED BY ITS CONSEQUENCES

Therefore Ladies and Gentlemen, could it be, could it just be that you are unaware of the consequences that follow what you are doing, that you have deemed safe and innocent looking? Could it be that what you are doing right now, is completely different from what you intended to do? And could it just be that rather than recognizing your moment of error, and retracing your steps, you are busy defending what solely exists to destroy you?

Psalm 19: 12–14 KJV declares, ‘ Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: Then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.’

Child of God, you will do well to be careful of destructive assumptions; you will do well to seek God’s help to live according to His expectations; and you will do well to be open to being guided, teachable, and correctable, even when you have a point or two that needs proving.

This is how you’ll keep winning, both today, tomorrow, and forevermore…and the people say…Amen!!!

You mean you don’t know Jesus yet?

Ah!!! That’s not right you know?

C’mon, let me take you to the Lord today, Lift up your right hand and say,

“Lord Jesus, I believe in You, forgive me all my sins, come into my life, be my Lord and Savior from today, and help me to begin to live a life worthy of my calling. Thank You Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
