Oh God, Dear God: A poem

Why are we forsaken?

Oh my God, Why are we forsaken? How often we pleaded for peace and comfort, love and understanding.

Like our ancestors, we are a minority, marginalized, judged, hated, even killed.

Your beloved children, individuals, crucified, without understanding, but we know why.

They hate us.

We stand for our truth. We know our way, the way we are made.

Identity given, not by our choice, but divine design.

With clay from the earth, and your loving hands, here we are, your unique creation, perfect in your sight.
