What is good and what is bad in a universal sense, when everything exists within an organized chaos?

It is true that there will come a time where our Sun expands and consumes everything in its path — even Earth in that regard.

Do we then say that the Sun is bad, or do we say the Sun is good, given that life as we know it flourishes because of it?

Tens of thousands of years ago, early humans didn’t have an abstract moral system yet.

They all rely on instinct where cooperation is beneficial and anything that causes harm is dangerous.

Morality started as a survival behavior, not a philosophy.

Humans back then only weigh-in actions that will benefit the group.

They live in interdepencency and cooperation.

A helpful individual is perceived beneficial while a selfish one is to be avoided or expelled.

The Human Construct (Cosmic Good)

When did we start splitting good and bad?

Ancient Persia has Ahura Mazda (good) and Angra Mainyu (evil) while the Hebrews has God as the source of everything.

The Persians split existence into two opposing forces, while the Hebrews believed that everything created by God was good, and that evil came from rebellion against that order.

Over time, humans began to assign meaning beyond survival.

Actions were no longer judged only by their consequences, but by intention, belief, and divine command.

What was once practical became moral; what was once survival became doctrine.

Different cultures built different systems, yet they all shared a common pattern — the need to define what should be preserved and what should be avoided.

This suggests that good and evil did not emerge as universal truths, but as tools to organize human behavior and maintain order within a group.

The Sun (Cosmic Entity)

If the Sun destroys everything, it is not evil — it simply acts according to its nature.

If the Sun gives life, it is not good — it only enable conditions for living things to exist.

We label both outcomes based on how they affect us.

In the end everything returns to dust and chaos, can we still ask if we lived a good life?

If everything is pointless, why can’t we just live lawless and act out of our own benefit?

Because even without universal meaning, we still live among others.

Because our actions do not end with us — they ripple outward.

Because survival turned into coexistence, and coexistence demands restraint.

Good and evil may not be properties of outcomes themselves — but labels we assign based on what we perceive.
