Labaron Philon’s Summer League Debut

I watch the first 76ers summer league matchup against the pistons. Honestly I mainly locked in on Philon’s performance and I thought he looked great offensively. I think his handle looks great and i think his passing was impressive. I think he looked good running the offense and trusting his teammates, he didn't do to much as far as looking for his own shot and forcing things. I think I felt that vibe when hearing about his game and his player comp to a Jamal Crawford type. Which no offense to Crawford but he was know as a pure bucket getter which this team is not going to need at all.

As the announcer mentioned that could be by design as Labaron knows that can show he can help Philly sooner then later by playing this way. The Sixers do not need more guys that can just purely score they have enough of that. But every team can use more guys who can pass, shoot, rebound, and defend which Philon looked great doing the first two.

Thats why I feel like a guy like Cameron Carr makes better fits next to ball dominant players because they do good at things they don’t need the ball for. And Philon showed he can do that offensively even on a summer league team where he’s supposed to be the best weapon, he played team basketball.

I think his jump shot translates on and off ball and his playmaking for hisself and others should too. He should play, I don’t know if he’s the back up gaurd to maxey or how the rotations will go with him and simmons as backup guards but will see.
