Bengkulu Prison Head Emphasizes Consistent Discipline During Weekly Discipline Week

Bengkulu — Officers of Class IIA Bengkulu Correctional Institution (Lapas Bengkulu) participated in a morning assembly combined with the Weekly Discipline Week program on Thursday (June 18). The assembly, held at the prison yard, was led by the Head of Inmate Guidance and Juvenile Affairs Section (Kasi Binadik), Slamet Santoso, acting as the assembly inspector, and attended by the Head of Bengkulu Prison, Julianto Budhi Prasetyono, along with structural officials.

In his remarks, Slamet Santoso encouraged all officers to maintain their work spirit and improve the quality of task implementation through consistent discipline. He emphasized that every officer plays an important role in maintaining the institution’s image through professionalism, responsibility, and integrity.

Following the assembly, all officers participated in the Weekly Discipline Week activity, a routine coaching program implemented at Bengkulu Prison. The program aims to strengthen an orderly work culture while serving as an evaluation platform for discipline implementation within the workplace.

On this occasion, Prison Head Julianto Budhi Prasetyono highlighted the importance of maintaining the discipline standards that have been collectively established. According to him, organizational success is determined not only by individual capabilities but also by the commitment of all personnel to comply with regulations and perform their duties according to established procedures.

He also reminded officers that discipline must be reflected in all aspects of work, including punctuality, compliance with procedures, and professional conduct while providing public services. Strong discipline, he noted, contributes significantly to more effective and professional performance.

As part of the activity, inspections were conducted on uniform neatness, completeness of official attributes, and officers’ readiness to perform their duties. This coaching effort served as a reminder that consistently practicing simple disciplinary measures can greatly impact organizational performance.

Through the Weekly Discipline Week program, Bengkulu Prison continues to promote a work environment that is orderly, productive, and result-oriented. The activity also reflects the commitment of correctional personnel to supporting bureaucratic reform through strengthening a professional and integrity-based work culture.
