Leo Rising: We All Want to BE Them

Or At Least Have Them In Our Lives: Aspects of The Natal Chart

Do you know a person that has an undeniably magnetic personality? They are Leos or Leo Ascendants. They have a considerable presence, and they very quickly enthrall the masses. Everyone is attracted to them and wants to bask in the rays of their attention. People try to emulate them, hoping to glean some of their attention or some of the attention for themselves.

Leo Ascendants are ruled by the Sun, the centre of our universe, the provider of life, the great illuminator. They radiate charismatic solar energy. It’s only natural that they are the centre of attention. They expect to be. It comes naturally to them. Leos and Leo Ascendants are born leaders, even if they don’t care for the responsibility; others follow them anyway.

Jodie Forrest comments in her book The Ascendant: Your Rising Sign,

“People with Leo rising can still seem touched with this almost sacred power and ability to inspire reverence, loyalty, and even awe. Moreover, having Leo rising automatically turns up the volume on one’s Sun, regardless of its placement in the signs.”

There can be some not-so-pretty traits of the Leo Rising individual. They can expect constant attention and do anything to get it, becoming spoiled brats or primadonnas. Some may act out to get the attention they seek. They may feel slighted at having to share the limelight or easily hurt or insulted by criticism.

One of my daughters is a Leo Rising. She always attracted attention (still does) whether she wanted to or not. Many girls tried to imitate her in some way while in school; she hated that. She liked being who she was and didn’t like others trying to be her. Now, she uses that to her advantage and is working at being an influencer. She found everyone wanted to know where she got the clothes she wore, the items she decorated with, etc. People come to her to help them sell their products.

My daughter is also that young woman in the mall that people stop and stare at as she walks by. Actually, all four of my daughters fall into that category, but my Leo Rising daughter has that solar radiance mentioned above. Except now, her daughter has become the centre of attention. She’s another Leo Rising and absolutely loves all the attention. Before she could even crawl, she enthralled strangers and family and friends alike. She would make goo-goo eyes and smile at people in the grocery store, and everyone would stop my daughter to coo at her baby girl. A family friend tries to convince his wife to have another child; “So we can have one just like her!” She has an entourage of local farm boys that do her bidding and protect her. She also takes over dance class, from what I’ve heard. If you saw her swagger, you’d think “rodeo cowboy.”

My daughter posted about her daughter, the farm, goats, cattle etc. and asked her followers what they wanted to see more. It was unanimous; her daughter. It basically became her page.
