The soft launch of membership by the European Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (EIPIO) marks a momentous and long-overdue step in the evolution of intelligence practice as a recognised profession. From the outset, EIPIO has defined firm guardrails that underpin its credibility as a professional association. It is not a political body and does not engage in advocacy or policy positioning. It does not collect classified information, conduct intelligence activities, or seek access to operational material. Our sole focus is the advancement of the profession itself: the skills, standards, ethics, and career development of those who work with the intelligence cycle across private, public, and third-sector contexts.

This clarity allows members from competitive, criminal, geopolitical, corporate, military, and security-adjacent domains to engage openly and constructively, without institutional risk or ambiguity.
