Why No One Understands Me — The Demand for Being Understood

You know what's the biggest form of slavery: the need to be understood by others.

We all want someone to look in our eyes and tell us that they understand us. Somebody to really know our feelings, what we are going through, and why we are like we are.

Sounds fascinating? But the truth is, this is not more than just a dream, a hoax, a dream that will be fulfilled.

All the time we want somebody to understand us, we forget that somebody needs someone else to understand them. It is a cycle that keeps on repeating and repeating.

The truth is, nobody cares; no one is interested enough to care what we feel. Everyone has their own lives, their own struggles, and wars to fight. People don’t really care about you, just as you don’t care about anyone. No one has the time or puts in the effort to be in your shoes.

Whatever you are going through is your battle to fight.

So it is better to accept the truth, get up, tap on your own shoulder, and face the music. Because life is yours to live, whether someone understands you or not.
