Chapter 13: January 2nd: Will

Will drove to the adoption agency right when it opened. He asked the receptionist, “Hi, I’m Will Arbore, former last name, Brayer. I was adopted here seventeen years ago. Can you give me any information about my parents?”

“Let me look you up. — -Ah, yes, William Brayer, you were adopted by Janice and Mitchel Arbore. You’re birth parents are Emily and Richard Brayer.”

“Is there any more information about them on there? Where do they live?

“Um, it just says they live in Oregon.”

“Is that all? What about the city?”

“It doesn’t say.”

“Thanks anyway.” Will left and drove back home.

He asked his adopted mother if she knew anything about her birth mother. She didn’t know anything else. “I’m sorry, Will. Your father- I mean Mitchel and I wanted to have another child a few years after your sister, but we wanted to adopt. We didn’t want to tell you sooner because we wanted to be your real family. You’ll find your birth mother one day.”

“That’s a little selfish.” Will stomped upstairs. He searched every social media site for Emily Brayer but found nothing. He would find her one day, but for now, he had to live with his adopted family.
