Thank God I am an educated illiterate…

Perhaps I have seen what the educated fail to see—what they cannot observe, do not wish to understand, or refuse to accept.

An educated person might show you your place or point out just how far they have come through their education; in contrast, an uneducated person—someone who never went to school—often interacts with others in a way that reveals a deep sense of simplicity, patience, and a spirit of sacrifice.

It is not that an educated person does not make sacrifices—they certainly do; in fact, the very first thing they often give up is their home and family. They claim they are setting out to do something for their family and working hard to earn for them, but does everyone manage to hold onto that mindset forever? I say this because, in my experience, I have observed many people who left home to study or work—initially sacrificing the comfort of home to get ahead—only to eventually abandon their families completely once they achieved success.

When an educated person leaves home for further studies or work, they often worry about how they will adjust to the outside world or whom they can trust. However, they gradually begin to accept everything in their new life and eventually come to trust outsiders so much that they stop relying on their own family and loved ones. They grow so fond of these new acquaintances that they forget to remember, stay connected with, or maintain loving ties with their own kin, preferring the company of outsiders instead.

I am not blaming outsiders for this, as they too are likely educated and have also left their own homes. I am not writing this to judge anyone, nor am I trying to vilify the educated or glorify the uneducated. I am writing this because I have observed and experienced these things; after witnessing it all, I felt compelled to share this. People often fail to realize this because they never pause to look at their own true selves in the mirror, nor do they wish to accept the extent to which their language and behavior hurt others.

So, should you remain uneducated forever? Absolutely not. Instead, you should educate yourself enough so that whenever an unlettered person sits with you, they do not feel inferior because of their lack of education. We cannot change the mindset of an uneducated person, but the perspective of an educated person can certainly help guide them toward the right way of thinking. Simply educate yourself enough so that an unlettered person does not feel bad about having missed out on an education in their own life.

An educated person should be at ease enough to convey an understanding of the value of both waiting and time.

And if,

an educated person ultimately abandons their home and family, considers themselves superior to everyone else, and becomes arrogant about it, then it is better to remain uneducated.
