Max took one bite of the squished heavy middle and told me his morning treat tasted like a wet paper sponge.

The scrambled eggs also need to be folded into a compact square that matches the bread dimensions before they come off the pan. Eggs that spill past the edges of the bread tumble out of the sides with every bite.

A sharp serrated knife sawing gently with no downward pressure is what reveals all the layers cleanly when sliced.
