I Broke Myself Trying To Keep Everyone Else Whole

Have you ever given so much of yourself just to keep others okay? Yung tipong inuuna mo lagi i-comfort ang iba, kahit ikaw mismo yung nahihirapan? That’s what happens when you’re a people pleaser.

You become the fixer, the listener, the helper.

Ikaw yung laging nandiyan, ready to heal, to carry, to save. And for a while, it feels good — kasi nakakatulong ka, kasi you’re needed, kasi you’re loved.

But slowly, you start to notice… the cracks forming in yourself. Yung pagod na hindi mo pinapansin, yung sakit na pilit mong tinatago, yung worth mong unti-unting nauubos kasi lagi mong inuuna yung iba.

Until one day, you realize…

You’ve been pouring from an empty cup.

We humans, we think love is about sacrifice. And yes, love is to give. Pero hindi dapat hanggang sa mawala ka na sa sarili mo.

Because if you break yourself just to keep others whole, sino na ang magbubuo sa’yo?

The truth is: you are not responsible for saving everyone.

You are not required to set yourself on fire just to keep others warm. And you are not selfish for choosing yourself this time.

Because love — real love — doesn’t demand to destroy yourself for it to exist. Real love will meet you halfway. Real love will not only let you give, but also allow you to receive.

So if you’ve broken yourself just to keep everyone else whole… maybe the truth is you were never weak for giving too much — you were simply forgetting that you deserved the same love you kept pouring out.

You don’t have to shrink so others can grow.

You don’t have to bleed so others can heal.

Because all this time, the one person that needed to be save was you.
