Who Is The Loser?

Yes. I was one.
I am going to say it out loud because nobody else will a few months ago I called myself a loser. Not as a joke. Not in a self deprecating funny way that gets laughs.
I genuinely believed it.
Every time something did not work out the way I planned every attempt that flopped, every angle that failed, every effort that went nowhere I collected it like evidence. Built a case against myself. Looked at the pile of things that didn’t work and concluded
That is a heavy thing to carry around. And I carried it quietly, the way most people carry their most embarrassing beliefs hidden, but heavy.
But here is what I know now that I did not know then.
Trying something that does not work is not losing.
Losing is never trying at all.
The real loser is not the person who attempted ten things and failed at nine. The real loser is the person who sat safely on the side, never risking anything, never putting themselves out there and called it being smart.
I was not a loser when things did not work out.
I was a beginner. And beginners fail. That is not a flaw in the process that is the process.
You don’t lose when you fail. You lose when you quit.
Something shifted when I stopped measuring myself by outcomes and started measuring myself by effort.
Did I try? Yes.
Did I show up? Yes.
Did I learn something even when it hurt? Every single time.
That is not a loser. That is someone in the middle of becoming something.
And now?
I am honestly too busy to even have that conversation with myself anymore.
Too busy learning. Too busy building. Too busy showing up for the next thing to sit and mourn the last thing that did not go as planned.
Busy is not always a good thing. But this kind of busy the kind that comes from finally moving instead of waiting this kind feels like freedom.
So if you have been calling yourself a loser lately
I want to ask you something honestly.
Are you actually losing? Or are you just in the part of the journey that looks like losing before it starts looking like growth?
Because those two things feel identical from the inside.
The only difference is what you do next.
The loser stops here. Decides the evidence is enough. Walks away and calls it realistic.
The winner the real one, the quiet one nobody is watching yet gets up. Tries a different angle. Shows up again even though last time hurt.
That person is not a loser.
That person is just not done yet.
