Meet the Team: Massimo dal Checco, Luxury Concierge Aficionado

The Drunken Monkey network has grown significantly over the past year. Meet Massimo, our Head of Operations.

Much has happened in the world of Drunken Monkey over the past few months. We’ve introduced the new NUTS NFT, partnered with many new venues and service providers, and our development team have been hard at work building our latest membership privilege — a brand new web application. We’ll be telling you more about our new web app very soon, but until then, meet Massimo, our newest valued team member.

1. Hi, Massimo. Welcome to the team. What’s your role?

Hello! Thank you for the warm welcome. I am currently the Head of Operations for DMMC, managing the concierge and membership teams as well as our sales, marketing, and PR office.

2. What does an average day look like for you?

My average day involves spending time with the teams and department leads, while also maintaining personal contact with as many members as possible. We are launching several exciting initiatives in the coming weeks, including the launch of our new web app, so that has been my focus.

3. DMMC is a unique concierge membership in the sense that memberships also double as digital assets. Is this your first time working in the Web3 space?

Indeed, my background is in traditional 5-star luxury hotels and domestic services. I find the exposure to the Web3 community extremely stimulating and see the huge potential in making luxury services available to a wider and more diversified demographic.

4. Your background is in traditional concierge. Can you tell us more about your experience?

I started my career in performing arts as an operatic tenor, but soon discovered that my true calling belonged to a different stage — the concierge desk of some of the world’s leading 5-star hotels.

I have managed both operations and branding and development for independent luxury resorts and luxury hospitality brands such as St. Regis and Luxury Collection. I have always been passionate about designing, reinforcing, and managing service strategies suited for today’s lifestyle connoisseurs.

5. How does DMMC differ from other concierge services you’ve worked with?

DMMC is a truly unique model of service, offering lifestyle services that are bespoke to the individual while also representing a valuable asset rather than a significant expense.

6. Best part of the job?

I love the team and how dynamic our service model is. Our membership base is truly diverse, and there is never a dull day in the office.

7. What are your hobbies outside of work?

As mentioned earlier, I am a “failed opera singer.” I still train daily and perform occasionally.

8. What can we expect from DMMC moving forward?

DMMC is growing. We are structuring our London and Dubai offerings, adding many exciting new services such as domestic spa treatments, state-of-the-art chauffeured services, supercar rentals, chartering, and an increasingly more competitive and comprehensive travel offering.

When signing up on the new web app, members will have the chance to fill out a questionnaire that will help us know each member on an individual basis and provide a much more dedicated service. We will also schedule a meet and greet call with all existing and new members, where I or a member of the membership team will introduce ourselves, putting a face to a name and presenting all the latest features on offer at DMMC.

9. Out of the 20 DMMC destinations, which is your favourite and why?

I am a Londoner through and through, but I could make an exception for Miami. Joe’s Crab and Art Basel are among my must-go-to winter plans!
