Music is weird.
One day you’re vibing with a song listening to it the whole day.
Ick the other day 🤮.
My subconscious brain decides my playlist for that day.
If decided it plays on a loop the whole day.
Does vibing with random music that comes to your mind happen to you?
This happens a lot during stressful events like preparing for exams with an overwhelming syllabus.

Whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed I take pockets of break with music.
I listen to them so frequently that my roommate gets fed up with giving me his earphones and he comments, “ You use earphones more than I do.”
On exam days, despite not being an avid music listener I find myself immersed in the tunes.
On World Music Day, let’s go through some timeless pieces that helped me cope with my stressful events.

One day when I was preparing for my final year MBBS exam, I got pumped to finish the exam portion just like Ranveer Singh beats up the gangs and shoots at them.
Just like the hero kills the villains one by one, I get the same kick when I finish the chapter one by one.
And my brain decides to vibe with “Aari Aari” with blood spread around me along with a movie scene playing in my head.
Till this day my brain echoes “Aari” while studying.

But when I feel blue during exam preparation days.
Things are not going my way and I’m feeling like smashing things on the ground
I need something soothing on that day that relaxes my soul.
Whenever I listen to “Galliyan” from “Ek Villain” my brain goes into relaxation just like sleeping on Hawaiian Beech.
The melodies and instruments make me feel serene and enjoy every lyric of this song( My favourite part is the guitar.)
When I listen to this song I get so engrossed that I forget about exams.
It feels like savoring the taste of the “tender coconut 🥥 ice cream"

When life knocks me down, I want to get up and fight back.
My brain plays the lyrics “Right now I am in a state of mind….” and my brain goes like “pick it up, pick it up”
Can you guess this song?
It was composed as a tribute to the bombing at the Manchester Arena concert.
The singer gives a message to channelize the emotion towards something positive to build oneself.
When she says “picking it up” I start to pick myself and get motivated not to give up and fight back.
The song is…

Last but no least.
There are times when I feel lonely during exam days.
I feel like no one’s supporting me.
My thoughts flowed during my first year supply exam, “What if I fail again”.
Thoughts like hanging myself or jumping out of a building kept coming to my mind.
Then this song came to my support,

If you have seen the Korean Drama “True Beauty".
You probably know the context.
The main character gets bullied for being born ugly and determinedly she transforms her looks and becomes prettier by learning makeup.
Listening to this song made me feel, “ You are not alone. I am there with you.”
And one more song that helped me to get out of that phase by providing me with melodious lyrics made me forget the world.

The weird thing is I don’t vibe with these songs regularly.
Today I am in no mood to listen to a song and I may get sick if you try to make me listen to these songs.
But I found them soothing on those occasions.
Strange, right?.
Conclusion
Music has a powerful way to soothe our emotions.
It can be used as a weapon to make the day less stressful and energized.
This is how I use music sometimes.
What about you?
And tell me your favourite songs which you use as stress busters.
