Fans, Players Have Fun at the Brewers Bowl-a-Thon

Tonight, fans joined Matt Garza and his fellow teammates for the Brewers Bowl-A-Thon, a unique opportunity to pal around on the pins with Brewers players, all while helping raise money for Joy House, which helps homeless woman and children of Milwaukee with life’s necessities

The event took place at JB’s on 41 and in addition to Matt Garza, the host of the event, among those in attendance were: Jared Hughes, Jacob Barnes, Jimmy Nelson, Carlos Torres, Zach Davies, Jimmy Nelson,Corey Knebel, Jeremy Jeffress, Stephen Vogt, Jett Bandy, Eric Sogard, Oliver Drake, Josh Hader, Keon Broxton and Brewers coaches Ed Sedar, Lee Tunnell, Jason Lane and Derek Johnson.

Corey Knebel and Jimmy Nelson’s team took home first place overall at the event, bowling with folks from Ebonite, the company that created personalized bowling balls for each of the players in advance of the event.

Jimmy Nelson had the high score among the Brewers players with Oliver Drake had the lowest score.

“I was told to let everyone in my group beat me!” Oliver said.

In addition, there were many items included in a silent auction to raise additional money for Joy House, including a package from the Brewers Wives, a Hank Aaron framed print, a Ryan Braun framed print and plush, a Domingo Santana jersey, a signed Brewers bowling ball and more.

Helping restore lives through God’s grace is the Joy House mission. Since 1893, they’ve worked with the hungry and hurting of Milwaukee, helping them restore their lives and their hope. Joy House provides safe shelter, hot nutritious meals and life-changing help to the homeless community of Milwaukee. The organization provides long and short-term programs to rebuild lives and get citizens back on their feet. Joy House is a part of Milwaukee Rescue Mission, which has been serving the community for a hundred years.
