Will Zohran Mamdani Destroy New York?

The above pic was taken by my sister, the eagle-eyed lawyer who used to be a photojournalist for various New York City media concerns until she had to earn a living and enrolled in law school.

It’s the main concourse of Grand Central Station on a recent afternoon, and as you can see, everyone is running towards a platform where they can board a train and get the Hell out of New York.

I’m going to ask my sister to take some more photos of other iconic locations in New York City which I’m sure will demonstrate how what was once the most important city maybe in the entire world is now being reduced to a slum.

Oops! I’m not supposed to use the word ‘slum’ anymore. That’s a word we used to mention before Woke emerged and forced us all to speak in a politically correct way which would be directly contrary to the way language is used by shitheads like Donald Trump.

During last year’s New York mayoralty campaign, there was all kinds of talk about how the city would be destroyed because the upper class, the people with influence, money and power, were all going to leave the Big Apple and move to more pleasant and protective surroundings like Palm Beach.

Good. Let ’em go. Let them all join their dear friend Donald Trump and their other dear friend Rudy Giuliani, both of whom used to live in New York but are now legal residents of Florida and can spend the rest of their lives telling us how and why New York will never again be a place where anyone who’s anyone would want to live.

In 2020, the population of New York City was 8,804,190, of whom 31% were white, 29% were Hispanic, 20% were black, 16% were Asian, and 4% said they were something else or didn’t know what they were from an ethnic point of view.

For the most part, these ethnic populations tend to live and congregate together in specific neighborhoods, with the blacks predominant in two Brooklyn neighborhoods (Bed-Stuy and East New York) along with Harlem in Manhattan and another conclave in the South Bronx; the Asians holding down one neighborhood each in Brooklyn and Queens; Hispanics also clustered in neighborhoods in Manhattan and the Bronx; and a growing Muslim presence in what used to be a Jewish neighborhood in Queens known as Forest Hills.

Staten island was and still is mostly white, the residents of what is known as Richmond County being largely firemen and cops. What used to be a Staten Island neighborhood dominated by St. Rita’s RC parish, which is where I grew up, is now the location of a large, Orthodox Jewish community with two religious schools, a synagogue and a store selling kosher foods.

Take a look at this map which shows the breakdown of voting in last year’s election for Mayor where Mamdani got 50.8% of the vote, Cu-omo got 41.3% and Curtis Sliwa registered his usual 7%.

Mamdani won almost every neighborhood in the city except parts of Queens which is still largely white., a few outlying areas in The Bronx like City Island where hardly anyone lives, and of course Staten Island which has been voting Republican because that’s how cops and other uniformed services always vote.

The only other neighborhood where Cu-omo got most of the votes was Manhattan’s Upper East Side, which is where all the rich people live, three-quarters of whom voted for Cu-omo and are now busily getting ready to move out of town.

Know what? Let ’em all go, and when we finally get rid of all those schmucks, I’ll be able to eat in a decent, ethnic restaurant without having to walk all the way over to the west side of Central Park.

Because the truth is that what made and makes New York City great are precisely all those different languages and different cultures and different skin colors which are scattered all over parts of Brooklyn, da Bronx and Queens.

And if I can get my eagle-eyed sister to go around and shoot some shots of those locations, we’ll put together a little book which will really illustrate how Zohran Mandami is saving, not destroying the real New York.
