Woman Condemned to 30 years in Prison for Aiding in the Dismemberment and Concealment of Vanessa Guillén’s body

Following a protracted court hearing, Cecily Aguilar, a Texas woman who admittedly took part in the dismemberment and hiding of soldier Vanessa Guillén’s body, was given a 30-year jail term, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Western Texas.

Aguilar admitted guilt to federal charges stemming from the Fort Hood killing in 2020 in November. The charges were expanded to include three counts of making false statements or representations as well as one count of accessory to murder after the fact.

Aguilar was the girlfriend of Aaron Robinson, the soldier who is suspected of killing the 20-year-old soldier. Robinson committed suicide as police drew near to apprehend him in connection with the incident.

According to evidence and material presented during Aguilar’s trial, Robinson was present at the recently renamed Fort Cavazos military outpost on the day Guillén was assassinated. He was in the gun room when blood was found there, supposedly the scene of Guillén’s murder.

Mayra Guillén, Vanessa’s older sister, praised Aguilar’s sentence on social media and wrote, “You received justice today.”

According to KCEN-TV, an NBC station in Temple, Texas, witnesses said that Robinson got the idea to dissect Guillén’s body from the crime drama television series “Criminal Minds” during Aguilar’s sentencing trial. According to eyewitnesses, Aguilar and Robinson allegedly made two trips to the site of Guillén’s burial, first to dismember the body and later to combine it with cement.
