You’re An Onion
Peel your layers

I’ve spent a lot of time dwelling on the past. While it’s important to learn from your past, it’s counterproductive to remain stuck in it.
What happened has happened. Whatever you had to learn from it, you will learn as and when your perspective widens.
The only thing you can do is know that whatever happened, whether good or bad, was only showing you something to bring you closer to yourself.
It’s like peeling an onion. A new layer appears when you dig deeper and deeper.
Don’t know what the destination is towards the end, but I guess, once you know yourself, you won’t be bothered by others’ opinions of you.
You’d start listening to your voice over the voices of others.
You’d trust your gut more than logic.
You’d be at peace with yourself because the person you care about most would be you. It sounds so freeing.
Because let’s be honest. A lot of the time in life, we do things for others without really wanting to. And eventually, we end up resenting them for it. But maybe what we really resent is not putting ourselves first?
Does that make us selfish?
Or does it make a stronger foundation for us to stand upon?
