2: Fulfilling Hadiths One At A Time

During the 3rd March 2026 or 13th Ramadan 1447H, Tuesday, there was a lunar eclipse happening. It started at 7:04 pm and ended at 9:17 pm. It was quite a special event for me because it was happening during Ramadan, and the first time I managed to practice an eclipse prayer as well as the sunnah [1] for when the event happened. The sunnah during an eclipse are to say Takbir (to glorify God), pray and give Sadaqa (charity).

After breaking fast at home, I quickly walk to the mosque because I did not know the time the mosque started to pray for the lunar eclipse prayer. I arrived just in time because the jemaah (congregation) just starting the prayer. The special thing about the lunar eclipse prayer is that there were two ruku’ (bowing down) in one rakaat (unit of prayer). I am glad that I managed to do it in the nick of time.

Did I saw the lunar eclipse in real time? Not at all! Actually, during every solar or lunar eclipse the weather at my place will be either cloudy or rainy. So, the chance to witness the eclipse with bare eyes are slim.

I hope that I will get more chances in the future.
