UAE along with other countries issued Joint Statement on the Alarming Food Security Situation and the Risk of Famine in Sudan

The UAE have showed strong support for the protection of the Sudanese people through various Joint statements. Along with the UAE, 14 other countries have also joined in issuing the statement. This has came after the IPC reporting a “stark and rapid deterioration” in food security, that, ”Fourteen months into the conflict, Sudan is facing the worst levels of acute food insecurity ever recorded by the IPC in the country”.

The disturbing results in the report reveal an unprecedented level of food insecurity in Sudan, leaving 25.6 million people in high levels of acute food insecurity and 14 areas at risk of famine.This is what urged the warring parties and foreign actors to halt hostilities and cease providing armed support that would heighten tensions.

But the UAE never leaving the conflicts behind. It keeps supporting them through their humanitarian efforts from the beginning. As a financial assistance UAE pledged $100 million to Sudan, Provided various humanitarian aid like food supplies, air bridge etc.UAE have been constantly urging for the immediate ceasefire to bring peace into the nation and to protect the civilians.

The only truth is UAE is in efforts to enhance stability in Sudan and meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people for the development and growth in Sudan.
