My IIT Hyderabad MTech RA and MTech Self Sponsored CSE Written Test Experience

So, the process was as follows:

• Programming Test + Written Test for MTech RA
• Written Test for Mtech Self Sponsored

IITH Mtech RA Programming Test Questions:

This was to be done purely in C language. The test was held on the Prutor platform.

1. Take a matrix input of order M x N. And rotate the matrix by 90 degrees.

Approach I used : Exchanged rows for columns and printed the rows in reverse order. All 10 testcases passed.

2. You take input a set of words with space between them. Now you have to reverse the words without changing the order of words. Ex. Input : “welcome to iith” Output : “htii ot emoclew”

I couldn’t figure out string tokenization. And got only 4 test cases correct. Because when I took input, it only took input of a single word and stopped taking input after that. So there were 4 test cases with single words, they were successfully reversed.

IIT Hyderabad has a very great campus, “it looks like a tech park” as a friend of mine said. And I loved the campus and hostels. But unfortunately I wasn’t shortlisted for Mtech RA Interview. And the shortlist for Mtech Self Sponsored is not out yet, so I will update as soon as I find out.
