So, you think you’ve been beaten down as the scapegoat?

You’ve lived with the golden child long enough to know their weaknesses, their tendency to lie and exaggerate, and their predictable moves. You know their facial expressions, and you can detect their deceit a mile away.

But once they poke at that tender spot in you that causes brain fog and confusion, you walk away feeling like you gave up all of yourself…AGAIN, while they stand there twirling their mustache and doing an evil laugh.

By treating you like the family outcast, it’s you who is able to see things clearly from the outside. You have an arsenal of friends who see the chaos and give you a sanity check when you need it.

So, how does the scapegoat outsmart the golden child?

1. The scapegoat no longer tells the golden child anything about themselves, leaving the golden child to try to manipulate from an outdated playbook.

2. The scapegoat calls the golden child’s bluff…Every. Single. Time.

3. The scapegoat remembers EVERYTHING, including the golden child’s lies and worst moments growing up. Save those memories and only use them for when you have to go nuclear on their ass.

4. The scapegoat lives on the straight and narrow so that they never give the golden child any ammo to use against them.

5. By not caring what anyone thinks. They think they can embarrass you or make up lies about you? Let them. You already know you’re a better human. Always remember that.

6. The scapegoat lives a life of integrity and authenticity in true peace, harmony.
