Gamepad adjustment for playable Rally simulation games.

Driving Rally Game; Always find grip in the trail, but drift for speed; Just sometimes

When you start playing rally simulation games, you might consider purchasing a steering wheel, but the price can be daunting, and many lower-cost models do not feel good enough. You then begin by using a gamepad, but it seems unplayable at the first race. This article will outline these issues and provide the adjustment guidelines needed to make your budgeted gamepad playable and enjoyable.

Problems

1. Inability to control the car at high speeds, even on straight sections or very wide corners.
2. When the car loses grip, it is extremely difficult to regain control; the only reliable way to stabilize the vehicle is by hard braking until it is nearly stopped.
3. Hard braking to enter square or hairpin corners, offering no sense of feedback other than remembering the required entry speed.

Software / Hardware Requirements

1. Game: WRC Generations (PC/Steam)
2. Controller: Flydigi Direwolf 3
3. Software: Flydigi Space 3.0

Go ! Set ! Play !

Open the WRC Generations game and simply set the dead zone to zero. You can trust your gamepad’s input and your finger movements. We will adjust Flydigi Space in the last step.

Enable vibration and ensure it is strong enough. The vibration is the only feedback you receive from the game in your hands. (Can solve Problem 2, 3)

Connect your gamepad, then open the Flydigi Space 3.0 app. Set up your curve like the picture . This adjustment allows your finger to make tiny movements at high speed (solving Problem 1) while full stick moved for steep corners. You can perform micro-adjustments to suit your favored style.

Change circularity algorithm to ‘Circle’. This is not directly affecting your drive. It just feels good when you test the joystick precision.

All problems are now solved! Now, play the game, adjust the settings, then play again like a feedback loop. Enjoy your Rally experience.
