The day when the pylons fell down

The electricity cables were across our pathway. We had to be careful to leave the house. The men took two hours to turn up..I love the realized nature of Africa.

About 10 men in a truck came to disconnect the electricity around 10am. The poles were replaced around 4 or 5pm.

This happened yesterday Monday 21st. Today I did the school run, went to the shops and met up with a friend I met 5 years ago in the UK. I needed a chat, a laugh and some solid company.

I have to remember and appreciate that I am able to nip out when I like because I have staff that enable me to do so.. Thursday will be the day I spend doing cultural stuff with the school refuseniks that I have at home. Currently one is at Kindergarten, the rest are pining for the UK for some reason. The eldest is studying for exams and living his best life! As I come home he has gone out.

Fundi came to fix the freezer

Whilst picking up dd2 a friend popped over so we dropped her home to the beach and now we chill and wait for dinner to be served. Not a bad life at the moment! I am grateful, I guess I have put in a lot of hard work to be at this point in life. Going back to the UK fills me with dread. It’s almost of work managing and running a full time home ed household.

I got a text saying our teens had met up as they normally do at a shopping mall in mikocheni and the guard was giving them hassle and asking for money and would not let them leave. Donna sorted it out and spoke to the guard who started to lie about his intentions and told her that the teens were trying to ‘romance’, anyway…they are okay and cool so whatever happened or didn’t happen is not a problem now. Oh Tanzania, full of money hungry people…and vibing night life, we love you and hate you all at once!
